I will have to seek it out. I have never read anything by Joyce Carol Oates, although I think I have at least one anthology with one of her stories. By the way, my wife and I went back to the book exhibition and finally picked up Jack Higgins, satirist Tom Sharpe, Ruth Rendell, and "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame (my wife's choice. She is a more discerning reader than I am).Prashant C. Sounds like you did pretty well at the exhibition (which I'm still envying you for, btw), but the anthology is available on Kindle if you don't mind reading that way. Took me awhile to get used to it, but I actually prefer ebooks now, if only because they're less costly. Instead, I came across individual novels by Nadine Gordimer, Ngaio Marsh, Ruth Rendell, and Dorothy L. Sayers. I liked your description of Joyce Carol Oates' suspense. She is an author I hope to read soon.Prashant C. One of my favorite posts of the week. I'm right with you in feeling like a thief robbing the libraries of their cast off books and paying only a pittance at the cashier's table. Nifty method to your madness here in selecting Oates and giving us a sample of her ebony/noir fiction. Just have to say there are some blogs that I absolutely cannot read, but yours ain't one of them. Keep up the very original work over here. I really get a sense of personality reading your posts. What a kick!J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.com
